Lawrence + Memorial Hospital

The marked advances in healthcare information technology, as well as the hospital's increasingly complex use of technology and a system-wide upgrade to a new electronic health record platform, convinced them that they needed a significant wireless network upgrade.
Our wireless site survey identified 790 new wireless access placements for secure data, voice, and location services.
Lawrence + Memorial Hospital saw the direction in which the healthcare landscape was going and was able to improve its wireless capabilities with the help of our Healthcare IT services.

LAWRENCE + MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN NEW LONDON, Connecticut, had a legacy wireless network that required an upgrade to support the myriad of wireless devices expected to connect with the hospital’s new state-of-the-art hospital information system and electronic health records platform.

As healthcare IT providers, ChimeNet was selected to optimize performance for existing and future wireless coverage requirements for PCs, tablets, Vocera communication devices, Computers on Wheels, portable data collection devices, and VoIP handsets at the hospital and across healthcare facilities in two states.

To achieve this, our healthcare IT engineers performed wireless site surveys at Lawrence + Memorial’s main campus, Lawrence and Memorial Medical Group locations, Westerly Hospital in Rhode Island, and all of the remote offices associated with both hospitals.

After walking one million square feet across 22 different sites in two states, and identifying 790 locations for new wireless access points across all the sites, our healthcare IT company worked around the clock, requiring more than 400 hours of labor, to make sure the project was completed on time – in a time frame unexpectedly significantly shortened from seven to four weeks.

From our customers
"The project was managed really well, and any issues were dealt with very promptly on both sides. The project ended up being a great success."
